UNO's Slessinger to Make Pair of Regional Media Appearances

Privateer Head Coach Appearing on Regional TV & Mobile, Ala. Radio

NEW ORLEANS - University of New Orleans head men's basketball coach Mark Slessinger will make a pair of regional media appearances over the next week.

Coach Slessinger will begin with an interview on the regionally-televised 'Tigers Roar' show tonight, Apr. 18.

Longtime sports personality and current SportsNOLA.com writer Tommy Krysan hosts the show, which will air from 8-10 p.m. on Cox Cable Channel 116 in New Orleans, in addition to airings on Cox Cable 1013 in both Lafayette and Baton Rouge. The show is also streamed online at www.PelicanSportsTV.com.

The next regional media appearance will occur at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 24 as Slessinger checks in with Sports Radio 105.5 WNSP-FM in Mobile, Ala. The Privateer head coach will be a guest with Lee Shirvanian, the longtime voice of University of South Alabama athletics.

During both appearances, Slessinger will discuss the his recent efforts on the recruiting trail, in addition to the announcement made in March by UNO President Dr. Peter Fos to keep the school's intercollegiate athletic program at the NCAA Division I level.

In his first season at the helm of the Privateer program, Slessinger posted a 17-15 record. The team played an active role in the community and on campus, having an immediate impact on student involvement at Lakefront Arena this past season.
