NEW ORLEANS – University of New Orleans head men's basketball coach Mark Slessinger made a Tuesday morning appearance on the nationally-broadcast Tim Brando Show.

Slessinger visited Brando at his temporary set at Fulton Square in the heart of New Orleans' Central Business District. Brando's show had been in town for the last several days in-conjunction with the Final Four.

Fans were able to tune into the Tim Brando Show on their local Yahoo Sports Radio affiliate, the Yahoo Sports Radio web site, XM 208 and Sirius 94. The show was also available on the CBS Sports Network.

During his appearance with Brando, Slessinger talked about the recent announcement made by UNO to remain NCAA Division I. Slessinger highlighted the institution's athletic facilities and the exciting future under new University President Dr. Peter Fos.

Slessinger's boss of 11 years and current Northwestern State head coach Mike McConathy joined the show via phone.

In his first year at the helm of the UNO program, Slessinger directed the Privateers to a 17-15 record. The coach was recently nominated for Louisiana Sports Writers Association 'Coach of the Year' honors and has taken an active role both on campus and in the greater New Orleans community.
