Tad Gormley Stadium
The home of the Privateer Track and Field program, Tad Gormley Stadium is a multi-purpose outdoor stadium located in New Orleans' City Park - just minutes from the UNO campus.
Over the years, the stadium has hosted concerts by many famous artists including The Beatles, Pearl Jam, Journey and Rage Against the Machine, amongst others.
The track and field facility has hosted numerous meets, including the 1992 United States Olympic Trials. Other events hosted since 2000 including multiple Sun Belt Conference championship meets, as well as championship meets for Conference USA, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and the NAIA’s Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) .
City Park – which is home to Tad Gormley Stadium – is one of the city of New Orleans’ defining landmarks. The 1,300 acre public park is approximately 50% larger than Central Park in New York City and is home to a miniature golf course, the New Orleans Museum of Art, a tennis facility and Storyland Amusement Park. City Park annually hosts Voodoo Fest, one of the city’s largest music festivals, during Halloween.
