NEW ORLEANS, La. – The New Orleans Privateers are saddened for the loss of former men's basketball assistant coach Patrick Harrington. Harrington, an assistant coach from 2001-05, passed away Wednesday night following injuries sustained in a head-on car accident a week prior.
Harrington, 51, was in his fourth season as the head coach of the Northwest Florida State Lady Raiders basketball team where he compiled a 100-25 record that included consecutive 20-win seasons. Harrington's wife, Lori, was also traveling in the vehicle and suffered cracked ribs and vertebrate. The couple has three children: Kelly, Katherine and Patrick Jr.
"Our program has a heavy heart with the loss of Coach Harrington. He had a tremendous positive influence on so many of our former student-athletes, our campus community, and city," said New Orleans Privateers men's basketball Head Coach
