Weather Cancels UNO Baseball's Thursday Doubleheader

Privateers to Resume Season on May 15 vs LSU

NEW ORLEANS – Thursday's scheduled doubleheader between New Orleans and Mississippi Valley State was called off due to inclement weather, UNO head coach Bruce Peddie announced late Wednesday.

The doubleheader was scheduled to take place at Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss.

With the rain in recent days, plus a high probability of inclement weather on tap for Thursday, the head coaches from both squads decided to cancel the doubleheader before their teams departed in the morning for the neutral site meeting.

Though this year's doubleheader has been removed from the slate, both UNO and MVSU plan to play a doubleheader next year in Summit, Miss. at SWMCC as part of an agreement between all three parties.

Due to a break for spring semester final exams, the Privateers will not resume play until 6:30 p.m. on May 14 when the squad visits nationally-ranked LSU. Any further updates on UNO baseball will be posted on UNOPrivateers.com.
