Feature Story on 1986-87 UNO Men's Basketball Team
NEW ORLEANS – The 1986-87 University of New Orleans men's basketball team – the University's first-ever entrant into the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament – was featured in today's Times Picayune.
Lyons Friedman Yellin wrote the story entitled, “Shining Moment for UNO, Privateers Made a Splash in 1987 NCAA Tourney” that included quotes from former Privateer head coach Benny Dees, in addition to players Mike Smith, Ledell Eackles, Gabe Corchiani, Ronnie Grandison.
