NEW ORLEANS - University of New Orleans head men's basketball coach
Mark Slessinger will make a series of appearances throughout the week.
Slessinger will begin his Monday at the 2012 NCAA Men's Final Four 'Career in Sports' forum to be held at Tulane. Open to high school and college students, the Privateer head coach will join other professionals from the sports industry in discussing their profession, while dispelling myths about careers in athletics.
Individuals from coaching, administration, officiating, sports law and sports entertainment will be amongst a group in a series of “breakout sessions”.
Later in the day, Slessinger will join the sportsNOLAtv panel for Monday's show which will air on WHNO-TV at 6 p.m. The show will be taped at 1 p.m. on Monday at T.G.I. Friday's located at 3330 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie.
sportsNOLAtv features local sports personalities Ken Trahan and Brian Allee-Walsh, in addition to former Saints wide receiver Torrance Small.
The show airs on WHNO-TV at 6 p.m. on Monday then re-airs Wednesday at 7 p.m. on the Pelican Sports Network, which is available on Cox Channel 116 in New Orleans, in addition to being available in Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
The broadcast is also made available on Tuesday at SportsNOLA.com and on YouTube.
In addition to recapping the 2011-12 basketball season and discussing UNO's recent decision to remain NCAA Division I, Slessinger will be providing his analysis on the 2012 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.
Rounding out his week is an appearance at the Life Resources Bottom Line Luncheon on Wednesday, Mar. 14 at noon at Piccadilly Cafeteria, 2222 South Clearview Parkway in Metairie.

Slessinger recently completed his first year at the helm of the Privateer basketball program with a 17-15 record. His team not only proved to be a success on the basketball floor, but created a visible presence on campus and in the community.
