Jason Walck enters his third season as a member of the Privateers’ coaching staff in 2010.

For the past two seasons, Walck has served as the first base coach and worked with the hitters and outfielders. He has also been used extensively as a batting practice pitcher and handled other various gameday responsibilities.

In the summer of 2009, Walck coached the Silver Springs Thunderbolts in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League.  

The Waynesboro, Pa., native came to UNO after working with the Mid-Maryland Red Sox in the fall of 2008.

Prior to that, Walck spent 2007 as an assistant coach at Reservoir High School in Columbia, Md.

A four-year starter at Shepherd University, which won its conference championship and appeared in the 2002 NCAA Tournament, Walck worked under head coach Bruce Peddie at Shippensburg University in 2006.

Walck and his wife, Lauren, live in New Orleans.
