Privateers Face Arkansas State on the Lakefront Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – The University of New Orleans men's basketball team will continue Sun Belt Conference play with a 7 p.m. matchup against Arkansas State on Saturday at Lakefront Arena.

The game is also part of a doubleheader with the women's team, which hosts ASU at 4:30 p.m.

UNO (7-16, 2-10 Sun Belt Conference) is coming off a 59-51 loss against South Alabama on Thursday. Devin McDonald led the Privateers with 14 points while Carl Blair, coming off the bench for the first time in his collegiate career, added 11.

Charles Carmouche is the leading scorer amongst active players for head coach Joe Pasternack this year, scoring 12.7 points per game. Ejike Hart leads the team in rebounding, pulling down 5.2 boards a contest.

The Privateers have had success at home against ASU (13-9, 8-3 Sun Belt). UNO has won six straight at home against the Red Wolves and 15-3 all-time against ASU at home.

The Red Wolves have not won at UNO since Feb. 6, 1999.

ASU is coming off a 79-77 loss at UALR on Thursday, losing at the buzzer on a three-pointer by the Trojans' Alex Garcia-Mendoza. The Red Wolves are coached by John Brady, the former head coach at LSU who was also an assistant at UNO in 1990-91.

Brandon Reed leads ASU in scoring with 15.3 points per game.
