NEW ORLEANS - The University of New Orleans volleyball team announced their
spring schedule on Tuesday morning as Jozsef Forman begins to prepare his team
for what will be his second season at the helm of the UNO program.
Beginning with a Mar. 29 tournament at LSU, the Privateers
will compete on Saturdays for four straight weekends. The Privateers will also
take part in tournaments at Florida State (Apr. 5) and Tulane (Apr. 19) with a tournament
hosted by the Texas Tornadoes club team in Houston on Apr. 12 sandwiched in between.
“The spring season will be a good experience for our team as
we will see some of the top 25 teams in the nation during this time,” said
Forman. “It will be important to spend time building team chemistry and in
addition to playing tough competition, this is the goal for the spring.”
While the team lost two seniors in Emily Kelly and Lindsey
Boler, the Privateers are joined in spring play by setter Lucia Najselova.
Najselova transferred to the Lakefront from Arkansas-Fort Smith, where she
played setter for a 39-7 team that advanced to the NJCAA National Championships
as the fourth-seed.
