BOULDER, Colo. – For 19 minutes on Wednesday, the University of New Orleans relied on the Bo show. In the final seconds, the game belonged to the smallest player on the floor.

Shaun Reynolds made a layup while being fouled with 4.6 seconds left to lead the Privateers to a thrilling 67-65 win at Colorado (5-5) on a frigid evening at Coors Event Center.

Reynolds drove the length of the court after Colorado’s Cory Higgins made a 3-pointer with nine seconds left to give the Buffaloes a 65-64 lead.

The 5-11 senior made his second field goal of the night count in a big way, helping UNO defeat its second opponent from a high major conference. The Privateers defeated ACC-member North Carolina State in November.

“They were denying Bo (McCalebb) the ball really hard,” Reynolds said. “I think they had a foul to give because the guy was trying to foul me before I started to shoot. So I was expecting the contact, and it was able to go in.”

The heroics came after UNO senior Bo McCalebb scored 24 points – 20 in the second half – as the Privateers (6-1) improved to 4-0 on the road. McCalebb, who missed eight of his first 10 shots, caught fire in the final frame – going 8-of-11 from the field.

Kyndall Dykes grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, helping UNO back into it after the visitors struggled for much of the game on the boards.

The effort spoiled a brilliant night for CU senior Richard Roby, who had a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds.

“This is a monster win,” said UNO head coach Joe Pasternack, whose team tied the program’s best seven-game start since 1992-93. “To come to a Big 12 school and get a win on the road is really big for our program.”

The win snapped a seven-game losing skid against Big 12 schools.

The Privateers held Colorado to 29 percent shooting in the second half – outscoring the hosts 41-33 in the final stanza. This came after the Buffaloes shot 54 percent in the opening half, which CU closed with a 6-0 run to take a 32-26 halftime lead.

UNO struggled from the field early in the first half, missing six of its first seven 3-point attempts despite numerous open looks.

The Privateers, who trailed by as many as 10 early in the game, got its first lead of the second half with 6:11 left when T.J. Worley nailed a free throw. Worley had 11 points off the bench, including three 3-pointers.
