Golf Gets Fifth at Bulldog Classic

DAY ONE RECAP | FINAL RESULTS

CHOUDRANT, La. -
The University of New Orleans golf team struggled in the final round of the Bulldog Classic on Tuesday, shooting an 18-over par 306 to finish in fifth place at Squire Creek Country Club.

Junior Oscar Zetterwall continued his consistent spring with a 1-over par 73 to finish in a tie for eighth place individually. It marks his third consecutive top-10 finish after entering the spring season with one career top-10.

Sophomore Sebastian Szirmak (T-18th individually) shot his second consecutive 74. Junior Ken Looper (T-25th) shot a 79, while freshman Pablo Serna (T-70th) and senior Hector Arias (T-30th) shot 80 and 82, respectively.

"Our minds are not on UNO golf right now," said Privateer head coach Chris McCarter. "It's very frustrating, but I know the guys aren't satisfied with their effort this week. Fortunately, we have a little break, and we need it."

Southeastern Louisiana won the 16-team event thanks to a 4-over par 292, taking a one-shot victory over second-round leader Ole Miss. Tournament-host Louisiana Tech finished third, with Oklahoma claiming fourth.

SLU's Cedric Scotto was the low individual, firing a 1-under par 71 to finish at 4-under par overall. He was the only player in the 88-man field to finish under par.

UNO will return to action April 9 and 10 at the Wolfpack Invitational in Raleigh, N.C.
